BRIEF HISTORY:
PKOCM was incepted in the year 1987 by a group of volunteers.
In 1988, a multi-disciplinary team from Yayasan Sultan Idris Shah started providing rehabilitative services and training to the volunteers.
In 1989, a day care centre was formed which progressed from a one-day operation to a five full-day operation.
PKOCM has progressed tremendously from a modest scale of 2 participants in December, 1987 to the current clientele of 996.
In 1994, a physiotherapist was employed full time.
The following activities are carried out at PKOCM :-
(1) physiotherapy (2)basic education (3) training in independent skills (3) school-placement (4) job-placement (5)home-based programmes (6) appropriate referrals for further medical , surgical and rehabilitative training.
On 28th October, 2009, we moved to our new centre at Lot No. 8094, Jalan Menon, Kg. Selamat, 32000 Sitiawan, Perak Darul Ridzuan.
